Buyers often consider condition as a top thing to look for. As a seller, it can benefit you to put some extra effort into detailing.
The balance between a person who wants to buy, sell or trade online comes into play by the use of photos. As a seller, remember the buyer can’t necessarily inspect your car. That means you need to include every detail possible in the description, and take clear photos of both good and bad aspects of your car’s condition. If there are scratches in the paint, tears in the upholstery or rust on the undercarriage, get pictures to document it. That way, the buyer can’t come back later and say he or she was unaware of the condition. If the condition is pristine, document that, too, to give buyers a reason to pay more for the vehicle.
Provide a Vehicle History Report: When you provide a vehicle history report as the seller, it saves the buyer some work and shows you’re on the level as a seller.
Before you put a price on your vehicle, do a bit of research. You can check what similar vehicles are selling (note: dealers charge higher prices than private sellers). That means if you start at a price comparable to that of dealers, you may have to drop your prices a bit to get a buyer to make an offer. Also, be aware of seasonal demands for certain types of vehicles that can drive prices up for a few months. Commercial vehicles spike in value in spring.
Make It Shine: Take the time to wash the vehicle’s exterior and vacuum its interior. If the upholstery has stains, consider having it cleaned. The appearance is typically the first thing that attracts a buyer’s attention, so taking the time to clean it, or better yet detail it thoroughly, can make it more appealing to potential buyers, according to the Dave Ramsey website.
